A frequent question I get is, “How often should I get a massage”?
My answer: It depends!
If you are a generally healthy, active adult, then I would recommend you get a massage once a month. Massage will help relieve stress, stretch tight muscles, and improve your sleep.
If you have an injury, I would like to see you once a week for 2-3 weeks. Together we can judge your progress and set appointments as needed. For example: Injuries like numbness and tingling in arms/fingers from overuse can usually be corrected in two or three sessions within a 2-week timeframe. Then maintenance appointments once every two weeks for a month. The last step is to get on a once a month massage schedule.
If you are an avid athlete or have a strenuous job, then I would recommend you get a massage every 2-3 weeks. Regular massage will keep joints functioning properly and reduce muscles tightness. This can help prevent injuries.
